Six Things It Pleased God to Do

 

I.  “Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him…”  (Isaiah 53:7-10).

A.  It was necessary for Christ to die that man might be saved (Luke 24:45-47).

B.  God made Christ to be sin for us (II Corinthians 5:21).

 

II.  “For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell”  (Colossians 1:15-19).

A.  Jesus is God in the flesh (John 1:1; 1:14).

B.  God the Father has given God the Son all authority (Matthew 28:18).

 

III.  “…It pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe”  (I Corinthians 1:20-25).

A.  God’s word accomplishes just what God intends (Isaiah 55:11).

B.  It discerns the thoughts of the heart (Hebrews 4:12,13).

 

IV.  “…It pleased God,…to reveal His Son in me…”  (Galatians 1:13-17).

A.  The church has been built upon the apostles and prophets (Ephesians 2:19-22).

B.  That which has been revealed to the apostles serves to instruct us (Philippians 4:8,9).

 

V.  “But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased”  (I Corinthians 12:14-18).

A.  God gives different abilities to different people (Romans 12:6-8).

B.  We must do all to the glory of God (I Peter 4:10,11).

 

VI.  “But God gives it a body as He pleases…”  (I Corinthians 15:35-40).

A.  Christians can take comfort in the hope of the resurrection (I Thessalonians 4:13-18).

B.  The inner man is daily renewed (II Corinthians 4:16-18).
